MULES ACROSS THE GREAT WIDE OPEN a True Western Adventure ~ $18.00 + S/H
by Jody Foss, with illustrations by Bonnie Shields ~ In 1976, Jody left Park City, Utah for Spokane, Washington to see the West in the slow way; a trip that would change her life forever. Traveling over 1,000 miles in 90 days, Jody got a good taste of life in the slow lane and liked it. With her sister Debbie and their friend. John Najar, they rode 15 to 20 miles per day through Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and Washington, arriving in Spokane just as the first snows blanketed the mountains. After 3 months of living out of a mules’s pack and her saddle bags, Jody had discovered a way of life that made perfect sense to her, and since that time, has walked over 6,000 miles with her white mule.

DONKEY….THE MYSTIQUE OF EQUUS ASINUS ~ $19.95

The entire book is full of quotes and passages about donkeys which I haven’t read before. The authors did an amazing job of researching the book. Both authors had an encounter with donkeys during their childhood, starting them on a path to a lifelong love of the donkey. Anyone who shares this love should own this book; it is a sweet addition to any library.
